| School board to review bids, plans for projects
Tomah School Board members will get a chance to review bids and design plans for a pair of building projects Thursday, when the board holds its regular monthly meeting Thursday, 7:30 p.m., at Wyeville Elementary School.Representatives from TCI Builders of La Crosse will review plans for the classroom addition at LaGrange Elementary School and the cafeteria addition at Tomah High School. Board members are also expected to approve the contract for the $4.5 million project that includes renovations to the band and science areas at the high school.The plans were reviewed Wednesday by the board's Facilities Committee.Other agenda items include:*Results of the second round of voting for the new nickname. State bids on line for locals
For the A&M Consolidated and Bryan golfers and tennis players, the road to state goes through Waco, where the locals must navigate rugged Class 5A Region II tournaments this week. The regional tennis tournament will be played Tuesday and Wednesday, starting at the Waco Regional Tennis Center and finishing at the Baylor Tennis Center. Consolidated will send 11 entries to the regional meet, while Bryan will be represented by two players. In golf, the girls will play their regional at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Consol team and two individuals from Bryan will compete. The boys golf regional will be played at Bear Ridge Golf Course on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Tigers qualified as a team, and they will be joined by one Viking playing as a medalist.
State Bank gets Rs 16.412b through PIBs auction
KARACHI: The ministry of finance through the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) raised a total amount of Rs 16.412 billion including non-competitive bids against the sell of 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30-years Pakistan Investment Bonds (PIBs) at slightly lower cut-off yields compared to the previous auction here on Saturday.
The SBP said it sold worth Rs 1.050 billion three-year bonds at 9.33 percent from previous rates of 9.36 percent, worth Rs 800 million of five-year paper at 9.61 percent from 9.76 and Rs 6.650 billion in 10-year bonds at 10.13 percent from 10.19.
In the long-terms bonds auctions, the SBP raised Rs 950 million in 15-year at 10.98 from 10.98, Rs 1.50 billion in 20-years at 11.19 percent and Rs 4.50 billion in 30 years bonds at 11.59 percent.
Zafar M Shaikh, additional director general, ministry of finance said, Overwhelming response in this auction is due to awareness in the corporate sector, both government and non government institutions have diversified their liquid assets into long term government paper in order to get a better return.
