MUMBAI (Reuters) - Gujarat State Petroleum Corp. (GSPC) will invite formal bids for selling a stake in its block off the country's east coast, a company source said on Thursday. The bidding will be open to all interested parties and not to just the four firms it had shortlisted in August last year, the official said. "This is going to be a formal invitation of bids," he said. "The situation has changed as we explore more and people are keen to know about the wells." The block in India's prolific Krishna Godavari basin is expected to hold reserves of about 20 trillion cubic feet of gas. The company has also found oil in it. The source declined to give details of new data, but said GSPC would share them with potential bidders. "Everybody who wants to evaluate the latest status will be getting the well data based on which they can make their offers," he said.
Gujarat Tourism invites bids for sale of its properties
In an attempt to reorganize the ailing Gujarat Tourism Corporation Limited and to boost tourism in Gujarat, the state government has invited global bids for the sale of its selected properties. This follows the steps taken by the State Government to improve the tourism industry in the state. These measures include setting up of Gujarat Tourism Council headed by the Chief Minister, declaration of Hotel Investment Incentive Scheme, introduction of Heritage Hotels Policy, Eco Tourism Policy and Medical Tourism Policy, reduction in Entertainment Tax from 55 per cent to 25 re cent, reduction and restructuring of luxury tax and reduction of Value Added Tax on F&B from 12.50 per cent to 4 per cent. The Government has also enhanced the budget allocation for tourism sector from Rs 30 to 100 crore with a provision of Rs 60 crore for infrastructure and basic facilities.

Bidding problems cause delay on courthouse construction
The proposed new federal courthouse in Great Falls is delayed because of complications in the bidding process, but federal officials expect a contract to be awarded soon with construction to get under way this summer. "We've experienced some delays, but are still moving forward," said project manager Shelley Smith of the Denver regional office of the General Services Administration. "I'm still negotiating with the development companies that submitted bids. Great Falls folks will see a flurry of building activity after the award is made." .
